Parliament Owls – A Span is All That We Can Boast
If you are thirsting for new melodic math metal with dreamy dynamic vocals, then you’re gonna wanna check out Toronto’s Parliament Owls, for sure. I’m so stoked to have found this band, as I’ve been riding out a bit of a dry spell the last few months.
I first came across the song, ‘Fighting off birds’ in my recommendations. The song is a veritable smorgasbord of sonic mastery – awesome vocal harmonies ladled generously over a fluid procession of stochastic beats and melodic riffing.
After immediately replaying that song several times over, I decided to play the whole album – to my continued delight. These guys really tick a lot of boxes for me, and I can hear a lot of influences from some of my favourite bands.
